Neighborhood Watch

The purpose of the Neighborhood Watch Program is to allow the police and community to work together to improve neighborhoods within the village. Through participation in the program, citizens learn how to make their homes more secure and monitor for suspicious or illegal activity. The ultimate goal of the program is to increase awareness and reduce crime. The program serves also serves as a social organization for the neighborhood.

Getting Started:

  • First Step: Talk to your neighbors about issues or concerns happening in your neighborhood. Neighborhood involvement is essential for success!
  • Second Step: If the neighborhood is interested, plan to hold an initial meeting to establish purpose and commitment to a neighborhood watch. Make sure to invite as many neighbors as possible.
  • Third Step: Select volunteers that are organized and motivated to lead the watch group. Contact our police department at 618-233-8114 to arrange a time to meet.
